Unit5: Support material
Make up the rules for a simple game
|
Mark out the hall with some masking tape into four rectangular quarters
Provide three footballs and a pack of sticky labels. Tell the group initially to start thinking in terms of two teams.
A suggestion to get them started if they are stuck:
- Split each team into two and place them into the four quadrants a shown below.
- The referee starts the game by throwing in all three balls at once
- The teams cannot leave their areas but can pick up balls and throw them at members of the opposite team in either quadrant
- One (or two etc) team member(s) is/are given a label and must not be touched by any of the balls.
- Once a labelled team member is hit the referee takes the sticky label from them and that member continues as an ordinary member.
- The task of the other team members is to both defend the member(s) with labels and to try and hit labelled members from the opposite team
- The two halves of the team can pass balls between themselves but if they hit one of their own labelled members they are still elliminated.
- The last team with a label is the winner.
This is just a suggested set of rules but you will not have to think long before you can see mny other ways these items can be used and variations to the rules.
